My deepest apologies for the hard time I gave you in my previous post. There was no fun intended there. If you had a hard time or were shocked, then my purpose of sharing it was served.
Again, apologies. Now back to my today’s post.

I love the edge
Because it is an exciting position to stand in. Because once you are there, it is easier to look forward. Because it sets you up for a plunge.
Birthdays, your first day at college, first day at your new job, your 10th date, your 100th customer, anniversaries – represent edges to me. And today the first day of 2013 is also such an occasion.
Sure, there will be a baggage that you will have brought from your past. The baggage that contains stuff that has been good for you over the years and things that you want to let go (but unable to). Edges provide you with an energy pack to start new things, to let go of things you want to let go.
Big resolutions have never worked for me. It was just a matter of time until I gave up on them. Small firm decisions have.
Now, with all the potential energy of standing on the edge, today the first of 2013, what things are you going to throw out of your baggage? What are you going to stick on to? and what new things you are going to start?
Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow.

Sorry for the late-reply!
This baggage metaphor is quiet similar to the backpack metaphor used by George Clooney in the movie “Up in the Air”. He is a motivational speaker in the movie and frequently uses the same example in somewhat similar context! Amazing how similar things inadvertantly demands similar metaphors!
Thanks for sharing Amogha.
