I’d set up an alarm for 5 am but I woke up by 4. Woke up refreshed, but the body wasn’t feeling so great. Because of the cold I suppose.
I felt I need to go back to home. When clarity comes in, it’s easy to decide. Maybe because I felt I got what I was seeking from this trip.
My original plan was to stay in Prayagraj near the Mela and Akhadas and visit few of them. Get blessings. Attend a few satsangs and bhajans.
I was told that the Mela place was not as clean and dust free as our side was (the place we stayed for the last few days). I didn’t want to worsen my cold further by exposing myself to the dust.
Shahi snan was over. Prayagraj had opened up a little, as the crowd had reduced much. It was reasonably easy for our taxi to make it to the airport ahead of time.
I didn’t inform my family as I wanted to surprise them of my early arrival.
After landing in the Bengaluru airport, there was messages from my wife if everything is okay and why my phone was off. I called them to assure them I was okay. But then she asked – where are you ? I told the truth. My surprise was no longer one.

When Sri M’s guru was preparing Sri M to be a Guru and initiate people, apparently a list of about 20 rules were made. They finally agreed to 3 rules for initiating someone into Kriya practice : Ahimsa, Satya & Abhyasa.
- Ahimsa – is non voilence towards all living beings. Sir says it’s better to slap a person than think ill about the person. Non voilence of the mind is the most important.
Of course non voilence doesn’t mean being stupid – you need to protect yourself and your family. Soldiers fighting for the country can’t be non voilent. The underlying principle is of the individual non voilence .
2. Satya: To the best of your ability try to tell the truth. Avoid exaggerated speech. If you can’t tell the truth shut your mouth. Professionally If you have stay away from the absolute truth like lawyers or politicians – they are exempted.
Both of the above are harder as they have to do with the mind. Actions are easier. Thoughts sometimes aren’t controlled.
3. Abhyasa (practice): practice at least once a day. Preferably at the same time. Using a clean set of clothes and your own Sadhana mat/cushion.
Few other things he mentioned
- Narcotic Drugs is absolutely banned
- avoid accepting gifts from others
- practice on empty stomach

My Yatra concluded abruptly due to my ill health but at heart I’m full of contentment. I’m grateful to my Guru and the parampara and the divine that rests in each of us for showering so much love and blessings my way.
Har Har Mahadev! Jai Gange
